A Readsboro woman sustained only minor injuries after her car hit a patch of ice, spun off Rte. 100 in Whitingham, hit two trees - one of which broke off and fell on her car - and finally hit a large rock next to a stream, police said.
Kathleen Quinn, 40, was driving south on Rte. 100 near Corse road in Whitingham when she drove onto an icy part of the road and went off the west side of the road. She was taken to Southern Vermont Medical Center by Whitingham Ambulance. The relatively minor extent of her injuries, according to police, can be attributed to her wearing a seatbelt and the airbag deployment.
