Sanders to visit vets’ clinics today

Sen. Bernie Sanders has announced a couple of stops today at veterans’ clinics. Here’s the press release with the details:

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, will attend events today at veterans’ clinics in White River Junction, Vt., and Brattleboro, Vt.

At 1 p.m., the White River Junction Veterans Affairs Medical Center will hold a grand opening of its new women’s comprehensive care center. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, there are more than 3,000 women veterans in Vermont.

At 4:15 p.m., Sanders will speak at the Brattleboro Community-Based Outpatient Clinic to welcome the new Medical Director Dr. Richard Orlan. Throughout Vermont, about 8,600 veterans now receive care from Vermont’s five Community-Based Outpatient Clinics located in Rutland, Colchester, Brattleboro, Newport and Bennington.
